Who, besides the SCC members, participated (did you invite the SRO, school counselor, psychologist or district personnel?): School Community Council members and attendees. 

Did you feel the information presented in the District School Community Council School Safety Report was helpful? Yes, very helpful. 

What, if any, school safety items did your SCC discuss that were not in the report? Notify parents on the day the drill, after it has happened so that they can follow up with their students at home. 

Your SCC has been asked to determine the #1 safety concern at your school after reading the report and discuss-ing safety topics at your school. What has your SCC determined to be the #1 safety concern for your school? The use of inappropriate use of language, including discriminatory language. 

What additional items did you identify as primary concerns, if any? The use of social media at home and access to the internet with our students.  

Does your SCC have an action plan to help address the concerns? Continue our monthly communication with parents about social media use. Sending out communication about the social media trends being seen in the school setting with the use of discriminatory language, including specific progression of steps and consequences that will take place if inappropriate or discriminatory language was used by a student. Through the community newsletter send out recommendations on parent tools that can be added to students’ electronics to monitor use.

Council’s decision to cancel December 17th SCC meeting, the following agenda items will be moved to January’s agenda.

• TSSP & Landtrust Review (move to January)

• Approval of Next Month’s Agenda
