Dear Copperview Community,

We wanted to let you know that we will be celebrating some very special weeks at Copperview in February and we could not be more excited.  We also wanted to give you some upcoming information on how we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day this year.  Remember, there is no school on Monday, January 18thfor Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Enjoy your long weekend.

  • KINDNESS WEEK: February 8 – 11. This is our 2nd annual Kindness Week at Copperview.  It’s is a week filled with random acts of kindness throughout our entire school.  Our morning meetings in every class will be centered around what it means to be kind and how we can spread kindness in our community.  Each class will participate in a Random Act of Kindness activity as well as be earning “Special Cougar Tracks” for being kind.  We will also be sending home a Kindness BINGO challenge for students to work on at home, so make sure to help your students with some random acts of kindness ideas. We will end the week with celebrating Valentine’s Day on Thursday, January 11th.

  • VALENTINE’S DAY: celebration on Thursday, February 11th.In an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy this Valentine’s Day we have devised a plan!  Students will need to bring their completed Valentine’s Day cards to school no later than Monday, February 8thand they will be able to distribute them on Thursday, February 11th.  Students will NOTneed to bring a Valentine’s box or bag to collect their Valentine’s, Copperview will be providing these for students.  Store bought, individually wrapped candy or treats will be ALLOWED.  Unfortunately, no outside volunteers for class parties this year.

  • DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP WEEK: February 16 – 18. Our students will be learning how to safely blaze a digital trail. The internet is a valuable tool for learning.  In today’s world, children and teens are spending more time on technology than ever before. We will be highlighting and focusing on how to build an appropriate, responsible, and healthy environment related to technology use.  And we’ll have fun doing it!
