Dear Copperview Families,
We want to let you know of a few wonderful things happening this month. Mountain View Christian Assembly (MVCA), a longtime supporter of Copperview, has been donating holiday gifts to our students for many years. This year MVCA will provide a gift card and a box of cereal to every Copperview student. Parents and families will need to pick-up the gift cards either before or after school on Friday, December 10 or Friday, December 17 at the following times.
Holiday Gift Card Pick-Up – Fridays, December 10 & 17
8:25 – 8:40am

Holiday Literacy Week - December 13 -17
We are excited to welcome parents and families into our classrooms during the week of December 13 – 17 from 8:40 – 9:00am. Join us any day of the week to read a book with your child during breakfast. Watch for a volunteer sign-up from your child’s teacher this week. All parent/families planning to visit the school must complete the volunteer application. Please allow 72 business hours to be approved. All volunteers must check in at the front office. We look forward to seeing you!

Coaches Corner
It is important to keep our children reading every day. It is also helpful to have your students read out loud for a few minutes each day.
We will be taking our Winter Reading Benchmark assessments in December and January and want to give students and families some helpful tools.

Digital Citizenship
From phones and tablets to streaming movies and YouTube, tech and media are everywhere. Kids love easy access to shows, games, and information. Parents and caregivers love that kids can learn on the go (and stay busy when dinner’s cooking), but it’s easy to overdo it when the phone never stops and the next episode plays automatically. Families can keep media and tech use in check by following a few simple practices (Links to an external site.) (www.commonsense.org/education).
