General Meeting

Meeting called to order by: Lorrie Judd(Secretary) at 9:00am
Attendance: Josie McClendon, Suzan Tibbitts, Candace Troyer, Tara Roner, Jenna Landward, Tara Covili, Dylan Keeling & Lorrie Judd

New Business
Book fair – The books should be delivered on February 23rd and the goal is to have them setup on the stage on the 26th. The Family Learning Center said they could help set them up.
Teacher Dinner – This will be on Wednesday, February 28th and the food needs to be set up by 3pm. The signup sheet has gone around and we need a few more things. Lorrie will work on getting those filled by volunteers.

No Fuss Fundraiser – All the PJ’s have been counted and the Family Learning Center has separated them for us but we still need adult sizes for the fifth grade students. We may have to adjust because new students have been added in the last couple weeks. Josie will text other PTA’s for help also for PJ’s. Jenna said to let her know what other sizes are needed and she will reach out to her contacts. We need more 4T, 5T & 6T’s and 2 pairs of XL Men’s. Maybe for the fifth graders we should just do pj pants.
Reading Across America – March 8th at 8:00am. We will serve donuts and have books for the kids to take home. Josie will text other PTA’s for help also and we will see what books are on sale at the book fair and we will see about purchasing some of those. We can ask for donations of new & slightly used books. Jenna needs more books to help supply the book machine.
Copperview Rec. Center – Dylan & Tara came to tell us about the things that are offered at the rec center. They brought a flyer showing their Spring Programs 2024, their Discounts and Program Rates. Dylan will strive to come and do a couple programs here at the school but it will cost some money to the students. The rec center is striving to get more Spanish speaking help at the front desk. Jenna will meet with Dylan at another time to startup some after school programs. There are some school staff members who have expressed interest in working with the kids after school so having the rec center staff train the school staff in the programs, then the programs won’t have any costs. A lot of the community don’t know about the rec center and Dylan & Tara want to get the word out. On June 1st, the county is going to do Free Passes for ages 5-18 yrs old and the parents have to sign them up. Jenna will put the rec center information in the school newsletter.
