Announcement from you Community School Facilitator
Dear Copperview Families,
I’m writing to share some bittersweet news — I will not be returning to Copperview next school year, as I’ve accepted a School Social Worker position at another Canyons District school.
Copperview has been my professional home for the past 10 years, and it’s been an incredible journey. I’ve had the honor of helping shape the Community School Facilitator role and working alongside a truly amazing team of educators and staff. Most of all, I’ve loved being part of this vibrant, resilient community of students and families who welcomed me with open arms from the very beginning.
Many of you have partnered with me, volunteered alongside me, and supported your child’s education in ways that have truly set the tone for what a thriving community school can be. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and be part of something so meaningful here at Copperview.
Though I’m excited for this next chapter, it’s hard to say goodbye. I’m proud of what we’ve built together — a strong foundation of support, connection, and care for every child and family. I know this important work will continue and thrive in the hands of those who follow.
I’ll be here through the end of the school year to help ensure a smooth transition. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and for allowing me to be a part of your community. I will miss you all deeply, and Copperview will always hold a special place in my heart.
Please feel free to reach out in the future at Jenna.Landward@canyonsdistrict.org.
With gratitude,
Jenna Landward

Community and Family Resources

State CHIP Enrollment – May 1
State CHIP Health Insurance for Children
State CHIP is a state health insurance plan for children who are not currently covered by health insurance, who are not eligible for Medicaid or regular CHIP, and who meet income requirements. It covers a variety of medical, dental, and vision services for children. Please see the attached documents in English and in Spanish for further information and income guidelines.
Families can apply online at chip.utah.gov, call 866-435-7414, or contact our Canyons School District Outreach Services office at 801-826-7272.
Utah Sun Bucks – Summer EBT
Utah SUN Bucks (also called Summer EBT) can help families buy food during the summer when schools are closed. Families get $120 for each eligible school-age child.
How do I get SUN Bucks?
If you receive SNAP, TANF or Medicaid, and/or you qualify for free or reduced school lunch, your school-age children will automatically be enrolled, and SUN Bucks will be added to your SNAP account or issued as a separate electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card this summer.
If you attend a school where everyone receives free lunch (this is the case for Midvale Elementary!) and you do NOT receive SNAP, TANF or Medicaid, you can apply for SUN Bucks here. Applications must be submitted by August 31, 2025.
