Community School Newsletter – April

School to Home Message

2 More Months of School!

We can’t believe it’s already April, and there are only two more months of school left! After Spring Break, our school will be buzzing with spring testing and exciting events. Be sure to check the Upcoming Events schedule at the bottom of this post for everything happening—including the wrap-up of our Penny Pride Fundraiser this week!

Thank you for supporting our school and encouraging your child to participate in the PTA fundraiser. The students have been so excited! The last day to donate is this Friday, April 4th.

Preparing for Spring Acadience and RISE Testing
As we head into the spring testing season, our students will be taking the Acadience and RISE assessments, which help us measure their growth and progress. These tests are an important opportunity for students to showcase their learning, and we want to ensure they feel confident and prepared!

Families can help by ensuring students get plenty of rest the night before testing and start the day with a healthy breakfast. Encouraging a positive mindset can also make a big difference—remind your child that they’ve been working hard all year and are ready to do their best! Please also make sure they arrive at school on time so they can begin the day feeling calm and focused.

Thank you for your support in making testing a positive experience for our students!

Copperview Career Day - May 2

Attention Copperview Families

Calling all Parents, Family Members, Neighbors and Friends! Copperview will be hosting our annual Career Day on Friday, May 3 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. We love having interesting and engaging career opportunities in our community.

Volunteers will be asked to do four 15-minute presentations in different classrooms. If you are a parent/family member please make sure to specify who your student(s) is so we can ensure one of your rotations is in their classroom.

Interested? Sign up HERE.

Library Books Due Soon

As we are slowly inching towards the end of the year, please be on the lookout for any Copperview library books around the house that may be overdue.  If you have any, please send them back with your student to turn in and avoid any potential fines.  Thanks for your help!

Digital Citizenship Tip

Being alert online is like looking both ways before crossing the street:

  • Pause Before You Post: Spread kindness, protect privacy.
  • Spot Red Flags: Avoid unsafe sites, links, & stranger messages.
  • Create Safe Spaces: Be respectful & positive.

CSD families can manage their student’s tech settings at: https://tcp.canyonsdistrict.org/ Links to an external site.

Technology at Copperview
At Copperview, our SEL team, and other teachers, use Google Translate to foster better communication for our students who do not speak English. As we work to improve communication, we are better able to meet the needs of our students and their families. While the translations are not always perfect, Google Translate gives a voice to many students who want to share their feelings, ideas and learning.
