• Review: What is Digital Citizenship?

  • Digital Citizenship and School Community Council Video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cdeD0lOQjc
    • Question from Stephanie Dickey – Can students access information online when using another device not assigned to them? Answer: all students must login into a device to access it, all information is connected to the students login.  
    • Colleen reports there have been no inappropriate searches this year from students, just a misspelled word.
    • All upper grades are using Lanschool, Kindergarten does not use Lanschool, but Sarah reports it is restricted and working well in Kindergarten
    • Thrive time will start in March and there will be digital citizenship lessons imbedded, in addition Kathy is teaching 5 Digital Citizenship classes in our STEM Brain Booster class
    • Digital Citizenship Week – activities happening at school, or at home around digital citizenship (have a discussion about those activities)
  • Does the SCC feel it has received enough information to determine if the filtering systems and supervision practices are appropriate?  YES
    • Action Plan:  Send out  through ParentSquare TCP information to parents and families.
  • Does the SCC feel it has received enough information about the school’s educational efforts to instill in students a desire to be good digital citizens? YES
    • Action Plan: Continuing with monthly tips and what’s happening at Copperview in our Community School Newsletter
  • Does the SCC believe the school has a viable plan to present important Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship information to parents in the community? YES
    • Action Plan: Digital Citizenship Class in our Family Learning Center (will be advertised in November on ParentSquare)
