Agenda Items: 

• School Safety Plan
  • To access the school safety report visit canyonsdistrict.org/safe-schools/
  • Our Newest Safety Measures in Canyons School District – “Hold” (similar to shelter in place, but isolating a specific location in building and holding that location in shelter in place while other areas in the building can return to normal routine), and “Run, Hide, Fight” (increase education to staff about what exactly this is).
  • Clarification for reunification location – Church address and information to staff
  • E Hallpass System has been purchased for Copperview Elementary – will pilot in 4th & 5th grade
    • Allows us to keep data on which students are using hall passes 
    • Have an ipad as kiosk for students to check out to use the bathroom
  • Transportation Safety is SCC’s primary concern
    • Pick-up and drop-off safety issues
    • Unoccupied cars blocking traffic
    • Colleen to follow up with risk management
    • Idea to re-draw paint lines for better flow of traffic
    • Selma volunteered herself to support with coordinating traffic safety
  • School Climate, Social-Emotional Supports is an additional primary concern
    • District-wide we are seeing an increase in behaviors
    • Copperview also saw an increase in students with disabilities that have never attended school – our SEL and SPED team have worked to get those students the appropriate services and placements
    • Outside behavior consultation has been approved 
    • District leaders will meet with Colleen 11/16 to discuss additional support needed in other areas.  
• School Fundraisers
  • PTA is considering school spirit wear or SWIG cards
    • SCC feels like school spirit wear is a better option for our community
  • Penny Pride in March – consider having it out during PTC’s again
• School Data Review – move to next months agenda
• LAND Trust Plan Review – move to next months agenda
